Summer Continued!

Well, after the Sheffer Reunion, we headed back to Las Vegas for a few days and then we were able to close on our house a little early! So I packed up the kids and headed to Fillmore! Here is a picture of the house we bought!

It needs quite a bit of TLC, but we are excited to finally have found a home we all like!  There is a great big cherry tree, apple tree, apricot tree, and a little peach tree in the back!  The cherries were ripe when we looked at the house and Savannah kept calling it the cherry tree house.  There are about six horses in the pasture behind our property and the kids love to feed them the apples that have fallen on the ground!  And the horses love them for it!   It's 2500 sq. feet with three bedrooms and two baths upstairs, a family room and another finished bedroom in the basement.  We are going to redo almost everything in the basement!  :)
We have been here almost a month now and we have really enjoyed it!  Today when Ken came for lunch (another perk), He told me there was a giant buck in the field below us!  And he was big!  Here are a few pictures we took of him!  Too bad my tag doesn't open for another month!

Ken is loving it here!  There are deer, turkey, quail, and all sorts of critters here on a regular basis!  It's been fun to watch them all!
I will post more pics of the house as we get it unpacked and set up!

We have been having a lot of fun here!  I set up the pool for the kids one day!

Three Little Fish

These kids make me laugh every day!

Grandma Stuart passed away last week, so Bob and Alta came up for the funeral. Ken and Grandma can't get together without doing a little bit of canning! They are making peach and strawberry peach jam! Yum!

It was Grandma's Birthday the next day and we hung balloons up and made cupcakes for her! I think the kids had way more fun than Grandma! Happy 68th Birthday Grandma!

Blowing out the candles!

We started to explore the area around us a little.  We drove up and over the mountain into Salina.  It was a long drive, but it was fun!  We saw lots of deer and some beautiful country!  Savannah climbed a big rock hill and got stuck up there.  Ken had to go rescue her!  It was pretty funny!

Remington wanted to climb up there too and Mom said NO!

Glassing for deer!  He found three small bucks and they were head butting each other!  It was pretty cool to see!

We saw a few nice bucks up on top!

The kids were outside one evening and Savannah came in to tell me there was a GIANT spider on the house.  She is so afraid of spiders, I thought she was exaggerating!  A little while later the kids started throwing rocks at the house, so we went out to scold them and holy smokes!  There was a tarantula on the wall! YUCK!  We put it in the grass heading away from the house!

Savannah started Kindergarten this year!  I can't believe how old she is getting!  She took her assessment and the teacher said she did an amazing job!  She loves to go to school and to ride the big school bus!  She is such a great little learner and she brings home some awesome projects almost every day!  It was hard for me to send her there, but after seeing how much she learns and how much she loves it, it is getting a little easier!  I wish the bus was not so nerve racking though!  The stop is just out of sight through some trees, so I stand in the driveway waiting to hear the bus make it's stop to pick her up and drop her off.  She wants to do it all by herself, but I still worry about her!  Just a little! ;)
Here are pictures from her first day at school and her first day riding the bus...

Attitude!  Good Luck Mrs. Monroe!

Waiting for the School Bus!

Saying bye to Savannah
