Elk Hunt

Ken bought a spike elk tag and we went camping a few miles north of Fillmore with the Bartholemews.  They have a fun little piece of property there with a few cabins and a way fun zip line!  Savannah loved that!  Ken saw lots of elk, but could never get one shot!  We still had a blast camping and hanging out!

There was a really nice fire pit that we got to roast marshmallows at every night!

The Deer Hunt

This year for the deer hunt, we went to Meadow Creek.  It's just a few miles south of Fillmore.  It was a beautiful area.  It was a little different from what we were used to.  Lots and lots of thick oak brush!  It made it hard to see anything!  We took the trailer since it wasn't too far away and we thought the Tahoe would make it!  It was so nice and warm the whole weekend though!  We also took the four wheeler with us and that was fun!  There are lots of trails up there!

We hunted hard all weekend and we were going to get up early Monday morning and hunt on our way home so that Ken could get back to work.  And at first light, Ken spotted a buck!  I jumped out and got my sights on it, but couldn't see his head.  I hesitated to shoot thinking maybe I had the wrong deer or something, but then Ken yelled at me, "SHOOT IT!" so I did! :)  Luckily it was the right one!  We hiked up to where I shot it, and we found the blood trail.  We had to wait a few minutes for the sun to come some more so we could see better!  When it did, we found him just 30 yards away from where I shot.  I was so excited when I saw him!  It is the biggest buck I have ever shot in Utah!  And the coolest thing about it all, was that my kids got to see me shoot it!  It was a fun weekend and then we topped it off with a deer!

This is where I shot my deer!
Ken took the four wheeler right from the house to go deer hunting!  Savannah went with him a few times and had a great time!

Boulger Reservoir

Every Fall we go camping and we decided to go to Boulger Reservoir again.  It is so beautiful this time of year and the fishing is always so good!  We never catch big fish here, but it is fast and the kids are guaranteed to get a few pulled in!  Since we bought our Tahoe, we haven't been able to take our trailer anywhere.  Thus the tent and cots!  Which was actually really fun!  It was a blast to sleep under the stars and it made it easier to hear the elk bugling all around us!

This deer was right outside our camp!

We roasted Hot Dogs and Marshmallows!  The kids love to sit around the fire.

We rode the four wheeler all over the place!

It was hard to get these guys off the four wheeler!  They were ready for a ride at all times! :)

Lots of great family time!  We had a blast and I couldn't help but count my blessings this weekend!  I am so thankful for my kiddos, my wonderful husband, and for the beautiful earth that Heavenly Father created for us to enjoy!

The Boy's turn 3

I can't believe that these boys have been here for three years!  They have brought so much joy to our family!  They make me laugh and cry almost every day and I love them so so much!  They are so different and I am asked often by others if they are twins or just really close in age.  They look so different.  They are best friends!  They seldom are ever doing something without the other right there with them!  And if they do get separated, they know they are and they ask where their brother is!  They have their own ways of communicating and they are either fighting and hitting each other or they are laughing so hard at each other and it is so much fun to watch them together!

Remington is still such a little observer.  He is so smart.  He is naming all his colors and knows a few shapes.  He likes to color (my couches and Dakota) and he is talking so well.  Other than trying to say "I" instead of "me"!  He will say, "Me want a sandwich" instead of "I want a sandwich".  He is the rooster around here!  He is usually the first one awake in the mornings and he almost always wakes up Colton to go watch cartoons with him.  He even wakes up before Ken sometimes, which is crazy!  So my day starts at about 6:30/7:00 AM every day!  Remi's favorite thing right now is Monster Trucks!  He watches a show on Netflix a few times a day and he loves to play with them.  He uses his fingers like Savannah used to like they are people getting in and out of the truck.  It is cute! He is so much fun to have around!  He is such a good snuggler and he is a good brother and son.  We all love him so much!

Colton is a ball of energy!  Need I say more!  He is always on the go and always into something!  He is a fast learner and loves to copy whatever anyone is doing.  Colton is a good little singer and he has been able to hum the tune to the alphabet song for years now!  He is potty training and I couldn't believe how fast he caught on to going pee in a toilet, now if he would do so well at going number two in the toilet!  He is excited about getting to wear big boy pants!   He also loves trucks and four wheelers.  Basically anything with an engine in it!  He will stop dead in his tracks when he sees a motorcycle or four wheeler driving down the road!  He is riding a two wheeler around with training wheels, but I wouldn't be surprised if he ditched those soon!  He is a great helper around the house!  He is so obedient and always wanting to make people happy.  Colton is so animated and makes everybody laugh!  He is such a character!  We love him so much and I can't imagine him not being here with us!

Happy Birthday Boys!

Update!

It's been a few months.  We have been busy and enjoying the Fall weather!  Ken has been busy with work and hunting.  I have been busy taking care of the kids and the house.  Savannah is still loving school and playing with Kylie.  The boys are being boys!  Colton is working on potty training.  He almost has it down!

Savannah doing what she loves...painting!

I decided one day to go get my hair cut.  Don't know why, just felt like doing something different.  And I love it!  It is so much easier to deal with! :)

Grandpa and Grandma Wright came up again to spend a few days with us.  Uncle Bill passed away.  He was 92 years old.  We went to the funereal.   It was a very nice memorial of his life.  He was a great man and we will miss him!  On our way home from the funereal, we went fishing at a few lakes that I can't remember the names of!  Sorry!  Anyway, it was a blast!

Next, we headed down the mountain and fished at a place near Salina I think. It was way windy and the fishing not as good. Ken was the only one to catch anything and it was a crap fish! Still had fun spending time together and roasting marshmallows and making tin foil dinners!
