So...It was a blissful night home alone on Saturday night! I was so tired after the weekend in St. George, I slept great with no interuptions! I was up early and headed to my mom's to pick up the kids. Just as I was pulling into the drive way, Laura came out to greet me and to tell me Colton had just fallen and might need stitches! Sure enough, he did! My mom and I took him to an InstaCare where he got three stitches next to his left eye. Poor guy! He was a trooper. He now has a black and blue eye, but the cut is starting to look so much better already. We made it back in time to go to Relief Society though! We took it easy for the rest of the day. I played Settlers of Catan with my parents and actually won! Which hardly ever happens! :) Now we are home and just trying to hold down the fort waiting for Ken to come home. Savannah went to school today and came home with a pilgrim hat made out of marshmellow, cookies and chocolate chips. She is really doing well in school. She loves it too!

Well, it's been a crazy few weeks! Ken is currently in Texas working and will be home in just a few days! YEAH! :) Last weekend I was scheduled to work and then I was going to go to Time out for Women with my in-laws. I took the kids out to my mom's house for her to watch them on Tuesday. We celebrated my Dad's 59th birthday with cake and games. We spent the night there and I headed to work on Wed. night just to be cancelled half way there! So I headed back to the kids and we hung out for another day. It was fun! Then I put the kids to bed and headed home thursday night so that I could get ready to go to TOFW the next morning. I was really looking forward to a quiet night by myself, but man what a hectic night! Daisy was going crazy to see someone after three days locked in Savannah's room. So she meowed loudy most of the night. And I forgot to bring Dakotas in for hte night, so around 1:00, he was barking so I got up to put him out. Then around 3:00, Roper was out in the yard wrestling with his dog kennel. Wow! I was so tired when I woke up at 6:00! The rest of the day was a lot of fun though! I got to St. George and did a little shopping before Alta and Cynthia and their friend Judy got there. We went to the Olive Garden for dinner and then headed over to the conference. It was so good the first night. Jason Wright spoke and it was very touching and the spirit was so strong. We headed to Dairy Queen afterwards and got ice cream then headed to our hotel. We all zonked out pretty quickly and we were up bright and early the next morning fot the rest of the conference. The speakers were amazing and Hillary Weaks sang which was also amazing! I espacially enjoyed listening to the woman who wrote President Monsons Biography. I am having a hard time remembering names right now. Anyway, what an honor it would be to spend so much time with the Prophet and to be so open to inspiration and the spirit. Another speaker was Miriama Cohlin (spelling?). She was a convert from Africa who went through unbearable trials and lost almost her entire family to war. And yet she rose above and served a mission and is an inspirational speaker now. She was pretty amazing. She told of a time she knelt in a coat closet and said a prayer for the Lord to deliver an African person to her to teach while at Temple Square, and ten minutes later, she was teaching a man from Africa about the gospel. Such amazing faith! I was so uplifted and it was a great feeling remembering who I am and what I am capable of. Knowing that I have a Heavenly Father that loves me and knows me. I have been struggling lately feeling worthy of anything and feeling like life was downright crappy! But after hearing the testimonies and the trials of others, I was reminded of my blessings! It was such fun to hang out with my mother and sister in law! They are wonderful examples and I really am blessed to have them in my life. We all had a great time!

Well, we had the boys' 2 year appointments today. I know they are a little late! :) Remington weighs 31 pounds and Colton weighs 33 pounds. I didn't catch their heights because the nurse was way too fast for me. But, remi is in 70th percentile for height and 80th percentile for wight. Colton was 70th percentile for height and 90th percentile for weight! Doctor Knochell said they were looking great and on track! I can't believe they are so big! Only a year ago, they were learning their first words and learning to walk. Crazy!

Camping trip at Boulger Res.

Here is our family trip to Boulger! What a great weekend! We got there on Friday afternoon and set up the trailer. The leaves were just starting to change so there were lots of beautiful scenery on our way there.
The weather was perfect all weekend too. After we got our camp set up, we headed down to the lake. We all caught so many fish and Savannah started setting the hook and catching her own fish without any one's help! She kept a few to eat! I love fishing at Boulger because you never leave there empty handed! The fish aren't the biggest, but you always catch a lot of fish there!




The boys had a rough first night, but we made it through it! Remi woke up about every two hours and would eventually wake up Colton who who finally fall asleep just in time for Remi to start over! Wow! It was a very long night! The next morning, we hung out together and fished until Marisa and Brad, and Ken's friend from work, Jerry and his family showed up. We all had a great time together. We rode the 4 wheeler and sat around the campfire. We roasted marsh mellows and made smores. Ken made his famous fajitas for dinner and that was yummy!










The boys did so much better the second night! Thank goodness! We had such a great time! I wish it could have been longer! I love spending time with my family and teaching them about the outdoors! Looking forward to our next camping trip already! Here are a few more pics from the weekend...

Sand Dunes with the Allens

We had so much fun last weekend and the weather couldn't have been more perfect!! The kids all had a great time, and they slept so well...it was a great weekend! Much needed! We got out to the dunes on Friday in the afternoon and we set up the trailer and started dinner. Sloppy joes. YUM! The kids thought they were okay. I think they had more fun making a sloppy mess than they did eating them! We had brought some of their ride-on toys and some balls and other toys. When it wasn't raining, we would all run out and play soccer. The boys were having a blast chasing the ball! They were laughing and thought it was so funny when we would kick it! It was raining off and on, but it was still warm, so not too bad. Shawna and Cody arrived a little before dark and we had a fun time visiting with them until we headed to bed. Ken made a chocolate cherry cake in the dutch oven. It was so yummy! And we made smores and roasted starbursts. On Saturday, the weather was wonderful! When we woke up, there wasn't a single cloud in the sky!

Ice Fishing!

Wow! I had such an awesome weekend! It was my tenth anniversary! I can't believe it's been ten years since I married Ken. It has been an amazing journey and I look forward to the rest of our lives together! We went to a cute little bed and breakfast in Kamas. Then on Saturday we went to Rockport Res. for ice fishing. It was a blast! We saw tons of deer and elk, turkeys, and two moose on the trip there! We caught almost 5 limits worth of fish. I caught the biggest and the most this trip! :) That doesn't happen very often against Ken! I even had this GIANT fish on and actually brought it through the ice, but just as he came out of the hole, my line snapped and he went straight back into the hole! Ken literally dove in after him! His entire sleeve was soaked! No fish to show for it. :( It was pretty funny though! And another fish...I had a bight, so I hooked it, but then Ken got a bite and hooked it too. I thought I lost mine and Ken pulled the fish through the ice and the fish had both our hooks in it's mouth and was completely lassoed by both our lines! We called this fish a tie. So I caught 10 and a half fish, Ken caught 9 and a half! :)
The weather was kinda crazy. It snowed and rained, but we were warm in our tent. We didn't even put our overalls on and Ken went most of the day without his coat on. Maybe we will take Savannah soon. Not sure how she would do yet though? What a fun day! We haven't been ice fishing for a few years now because of the kids. So it was great to get out! My mom watched the kids for this trip. I really appreciate her willingness to watch them when she can. And to Clayton, because I know he spends a lot of time with them too! Anyway, what a great weekend! I had a blast and now I really want to go again!

The Kiddos

I wanted to post this before I forgot what they were. The kids all had their well child check ups a few days ago. Savannah is in the 15th percentile for height, and 80th for weight. She is so smart! The doc was so entertained by her dinosaur hands too! She had to get three shots and it took both Ken and I to hold her down for them. After her first two, she saw the third coming and was crying, "OH-NO...not again"! It was sad! The boys are almost identical in weight and height. Remi was 27 lbs and 32 inches. Colton was 28 lbs and 31.5 inches tall. Remi is walking finally and is so content to play by himself. He is an "observer" as the doc called him. He watches everything and does what he wants when he wants! He is able to crawl down and up the stairs and he is saying, "uh-oh", "mama", "dada", and I think he is trying to say "baby". Remi loves to play patty cake! Colton is such a funny little boy! He imitates whatever you are doing! He dances, and shakes, plays peek a boo, and his favorite thing lately is to stomp his feet. He is so fast! He doesn't walk anywhere...he runs! Colton is saying everything that Remi says minus baby. He loves people and will put his arms out to whoever will pick him up! Everybody loves holding the boys and they love the attention. They are experts at throwing tantrums already! I know where they learned that from! :) I love these kids and they are my whole world! I hope they know how much I love them! :) They are such awesome and wonderful kiddos!

Major catch up time! November 16th, 2010

Well, it happened yet again! It has been such a crazy busy month, that I just haven't gotten to my blog. We went a lot of places and did a lot of fun things, so I will try to cover as much as I can and hopefully I will get better at this! Lets see...back in October, we were just getting ready to go antelope hunting. I had to work the night before we left, so we loaded the truck the night before. When I got home, we headed to Grantsville to drop the kids off. Then we headed to Wyoming! I pretty much slept the entire way to Green River, where we dropped off our computer to Dave to repair. Then we headed out to find a campsite. We were really excited when we got to where we usually hunt, and our favorite spot was open. It is right under this giant dead tree. We set up our tent and decided we had about 45 minutes of daylight left, so we thought we would go out and see what we could find. And not even a half mile from camp, we came up on a doe and a fawn. I jumped out and shot the doe. She ran 5 yards and dropped! It was really exciting! So we took care of her and headed back to camp to finish setting up and go to bed. So pretty good luck. We were there not even an hour and had one doe down. One down, two to go! It was a pretty cold night for me, but I think Ken slept fine. Of coarse! :) The next morning, we woke up really early and drove out to where we thought they would be. We spotted some over a few hills, so we jumped out of the truck and started hiking. We got up on them, but I couldn't get a good shot off. We chased them over another ridge just in time to watch two bucks dueling it out! Finally the weaker one gave up and died! It was such a crazy thing to watch! I did get a shot off this time around, and wasn't sure whether or not I hit it. So we followed it for a long time, until we decided that she wasn't. We walked back to the dead buck. He was a pretty good size! We figured maybe the other one broke it's back or neck or something!? It was pretty amazing though. We headed back to the truck. We were spotting them all over the place, so it was fun. And we never did see any other hunters while we were there. I finally ended up shooting a little buck that was bedded down at a watering hole. So I was done shooting by 12 noon that day. I only used about 5 bullets. Both times I shot and hit, I killed. So we went back to camp to eat lunch and take a nap. I was still feeling exhausted from working a few nights earlier. So as I'm sleeping, I can hear Ken messing with stuff around camp, chopping firewood, doing whatever. Then when I wake up, Ken tells me he went for a little hike and shot a doe. He hiked up, shot the doe, came back to camp to grab his pack, hiked back up to her, gutted her, and then came back to camp and put her in the cooler all while I was sleeping! So I missed the whole thing! :/ He was pretty excited though! So, it was our first day there, my mom had the kids for three more days, we decided to go somewhere fun. We loaded everything up in the truck and headed back to Utah.

Oh yah, I chipped one of my teeth on the drive out there, so I was anxious to get back to a dentist. So we spent the night at home, which the drive home was a late one, but don't worry Ken, I can stay awake and talk with ya! "Are we in Provo canyon?" :) The next morning, I ran to the dentist and then we headed out to Cave Lake, Nevada. It was a really pretty lake just over the border. We got there and set up our tent again! Then we hit the lake! The weather was pretty good. It rained on and off throughout the time we were there. But we stayed dry mostly! We took a drive over the loop there. We saw a few deer. And a lot of hunters. It was really beautiful! The loop ended up in Ely. And we decided to go to dinner at a mexican restaurant. The night was really windy and rainy, but we both stayed warm enough. We woke up and took down camp. We hit the lake one last time. The fishing was fast! The fish were small...really small, but fast action! Lots of fun! I think we caught almost 50 fish together! Yah, Ken beat me. He caught 26 I think, and I caught 22.


We drove up through Wendover to get to my mom's house. Ken was upset about not being able to stop and get a buffet because we were too early passing through. But really, we could have gone if we had waited about 20 minutes. Oh well! The kids were good for my parents. It was nice to see them again. It was such a great few days! I slept a lot. And it was so nice to be able to have time to be with just Ken! We don't get very many opportunities like that anymore. It was an amazing vacation!
October was a busy month for us all. Savannah had quite a few Halloween parties and birthday parties going on. Ken was busy at work. And I actually had quite a few work meetings and things going on as well.
I had my deer hunt on the 23rd. It was a fun day too! Marisa spent the night on Friday so that me and Ken could leave really early the next morning. We drove up on top of skyline. And it was so foggy that we couldn't see 20 feet in front of us! It was kind of frustrating, because we had not been seeing any deer lower, and now the fog was keeping us from finding anything! We drove all the way over and decided to hit Fairview for some lunch and then drive over Lake Fork in a last attempt to see something on our way home. It was pretty sad. I don't remember the last time I didn't see the crazy big deer camp without a deer hanging on opening day. We didn't actually see anybody with deer hanging, until at the end of Lake Fork road at someones camp. They had a little buck. We were almost through the prime areas on the road and I was losing hope of seeing anything, when all the sudden I spotted a couple deer standing about 100 yards off the rod ahead of us! I was so excited! I jumped out and got ready and sure enough, there was a little spiker buck! I shot and he dropped right there! I was so stoked! So was Ken! It's funny how excited we were about such a little buck! :D He will be good eatin' though! We stopped and celebrated with ice cream from McDonalds!

Halloween was fun this year, although it would have been way more fun if Ken had been there! Ken headed to Nevada for his hunt and I stayed behind. Me and the kids went to Tiff's house and trick or treated there. Savannah got a whole bucket full of treats! She had a lot of fun too. It was really cold and rainy in the beginning, but turned out pretty nice.

Then the next day we headed out to Nevada to join Ken! On Saturday, the first day he was there, Him and Craig drove out and shot first thing that morning. Ken shot a really nice 5x3! His body was just massive! Almost like an elk! He is going to have it European mounted.


So that left him available to go with us trick or treating in Wells! It was way fun! They really know how to celebrate Halloween! Spooky houses, and all out costumes! It was great! And Savannah and Carson filled another bucket up with candy and goodies! They carved pumpkins earlier that day too. So it was fun driving back up to the house in Wells, and seeing the pumpkins lit up!


It was a lot of fun to see Cliff and Pattie! They are always so hospitable! We loaded up the four wheelers and rokon one of the days we were there and went for a long ride in the mountains there. We strapped the car seats to the back of ours and Savannah rode up in front of me half the time, and with Ken the other half. We didn't see any animals, but it was beautiful country! And I think the kids had a fun time!






Ken did a lot of hunting while he was there too. They went coyote hunting almost every day and were successful almost every time. I watched him shoot a few ducks off of a nearby pond. I'm glad he could go and have fun! He deserves it!
We went to my dad's and Morgan's Birthday party on Sunday. That was fun! We made Hawaiin chicken!
Oh yah, so Ken and I have started a weight loss bet. We weigh in on fridays and whoever loses the most weight during that week, wins whatever they bet. I lost the first week. Ken has lost the last two weeks. He had to take my big bookshelf downstairs and take me to two movies this week! :) Lovin it!
Ken is working in Rosebud today doing some welding.
Well, that about covers all the exciting things we have been up to!

April 17th, 2010 Sand Dunes

We met up with Shawna and Cody and a few of their family and friends at the Sand Dunes! What a great day! I have never been there and I thought it was going to be way different than I imagined. It was so cool...rolling hills of sand! It reminded me of snowmobiling, but on sand instead of snow! And it is always so much fun to hang out with Shawna and her family. Savannah had such a great time with Parker and Sariah. Parker gave her a ride on the back of his four wheeler. He has a kid-sized one. The boys even went for a little ride around camp! Ken loved it too. He was a daredevil though and making me nervous every time he went out! :) One time we went out, Sariah fell asleep on Shawna's lap and we had to go back early. It was funny! I couldn't believe she fell asleep like that! Shawna just got a new camper. It's really nice. They had deep fried turkey (YUM), mashed potatoes, corn, and rolls for dinner. It was delicious! Then we sat around the camp fire and visited until we had to go home. I had to work the next morning, which came too early! :) Anyway, it was a blast and I hope we get to go back soon! I'm so grateful for such fun friends and family to spend time with!

Savannah got her first hair cut today! She was so excited and did such a great job! She held really still for the stylist and was flaunting her new do everywhere we went! It was cute! I kept the hair she cut off for her memory box. It was a fun mommy/daughter activity! :)
